Mt. Lemmon

What is a perk about living in the Arizona desert? We live at the base of a lot of mountains. So, if you are tired of the heat, just pack up the car and head on up to the top. 100 degrees at the bottom and 30 minutes later....a refreshing 67. Delightful. Refreshed. Happy.
Taking a pit stop and a potty break at the middle of the mountain. Look how green it is already! (The "L's" we are making are for Mt. Lemmon)
Having lunch at the Cookie Cabin. Pizza and a cookie sundae to give us energy for our hike.
Here we go
A clear, cool stream to spend the afternoon.
Exploring
William just discovered how fun throwing rocks into a stream is.

Mr. An's

We had lunch at Mr. An's Japanese Steakhouse this past weekend. WOW! What a great time. Our chef started the meal out with a BIG fire and then some throwing of spatulas and cooking tools. Next he dumped food into piles on the grill, threw eggs around, flipped meat and made a volcano out of an onion. That is talent!! We clapped and ate and laughed. Serious fun day.
Giving a thumbs up. Ready for the show.
Sister's thumbs up--she must be confused
Trying again. Again confused.
Enjoying some rice
Watching the show. Sister said the fire burned her face all gone. :)

Swimming

We just finished our two week swim school with our favorite teacher, Miss Margaret. We were so lucky to have found her this summer! Before lessons we were using swim tubes and floaties in the pool. Just after eight days look what we can do!

Mom and Daddo are so proud and so are we. Can't wait to use our new moves for the next few months. Splash!

Summer

What do you do when the daddos are gone for work and the weeks are long? You hang with your friends and get treats from the "Desert Delights" man (the ice cream man with an Arizona twist)! Thank goodness for good friends and creamy delights.
Waiting for the music to get to our driveway.

He arrived!

Monsoon!

The monsoon rains have started! (Big sigh and a cheer please!) With the rain comes cloud cover and cooler afternoons. What a treat for us desert rats. A few minutes from the blazing sun is ALWAYS appreciated.

Happy 4th

Happy Birthday America! Loved doing sparklers in your honor. Thanks for the fun!

Post bath time hair :)

More Iowa...

We uploaded over 750 pictures from our Iowa trip so you can imagine how hard it has been deciding which ones to post. Here are a few to wrap up what else we did while visiting Grammie and Papa. Now for the top 10...
10. Snuggling with Grammie at the circus
9. Going to the "Greatest Show on Earth" and seeing the elephants perform
8. Jumping in the bounce house from uncle A.J.
7. Zipping down the slip 'n slide for the first time
6. Playing peek-a-boo with a baby gorilla at the zoo
5. Catching tree frogs
4. Eating Papa's Strawberries
3. Picking fresh veggie out of the garden
2. Catching toads
(Insert drumroll here) And the number 1 thing to do while visiting Grammie and Papa...eating crunch cones from the Tastee Treat (mom's childhood ice cream hangout).

Well there you go, just a few off the top of our head.
