Can I have a Scooby Snack?

I haven't really been into any of my snacks this week. I would much rather eat what mommy and daddo have. Aren't they so nice to share with me? Grown up food is the best!

This is what happens when daddo is left in charge...he gives me what ever I want!

It's been one of those weeks...

Cutting molars + being sick = Wild man!!
Wow! Is this a ladder? Yes, I have been into anything and everything this week (more than usual)! Since I haven't been feeling too hot we have been house bound the last few days and boy am I ready to get out! Mom has been following me around like crazy wiping my nose with one hand and then Clorox wiping everything else with the other hand. If you ask me I think she is a little crazy! Good news though, I am back to feeling normal so hopefully this week I can play with my friends again. Bring on the freedom!

Monkey Man Mania!

Check out the new pool from my friend Hudson in Kansas City. I had a great play date on Friday breaking it in with Nolan. He even has a sprinkler in his nose. Thanks Hudson for all the fun, wish you could be here to play! It even inspired me to go on a stroll. Check it out below...

The Time Has Come!

So I just decided I was done swimming and wanted to go after the hose. Who thinks by the end of the weekend that this will be a regular thing? Thanks Sara for capturing my first walking adventure! (You can see Mommy's reflection in the window--she was trying to hide her excitement so I wouldn't get distracted!!)

Beach Bums...

We went to the beach last weekend with our friends the Himes'. We traveled to Rocky Point, Mexico (only four hours away!). Who knew you could find a beach so close to desert life? We had a great time relaxing, swimming and soaking up the sun. When can we go back?!

We are out! Taking a little siesta on our way to Rocky Point

Mommy and Me at the pool. I loved watching the sun set during an evening dip.

My first feel of the sand and ocean. I loved the sound of the waves and playing in the sand. I only at one small handful and decided that wasn't fun!

Family fun at the beach.

Playtime with Nolan. The beach is the best with friends!

Happy Birthday to Me!

On Saturday, I had my first birthday party and boy was it fun! I played with friends, ate cake, went swimming, opened gifts AND got to stay up past my bedtime. Since I am a monkey man, mommy had a safari jungle party and decorated the house like a real jungle. There were leaves and monkeys everywhere! Thank you so much to all my friends that stopped by to celebrate with me and for all the great gifts. Everyday there is something new to play with! Thanks again to Tim for taking all the wonderful pictures and capturing the fun times I had that day. Mommy says they are priceless! Cheers!

Oh! I almost forgot! I also took my first steps during my party. I really wanted that bouncy ball you see in the pictures so I just went for it. Now, I haven't repeated my performance but don't worry...it is right around the corner.

My First Year...

A note from mom:

I don't even know where to start...I guess I could start out with the cliche saying of "Where did the time go?", but really "Where did the time go?". This time last year we were just bringing our little monkey home from the hospital, our hearts filled with excitement and terror at the same time. Questions filled the back of my head during the car ride--What if he cries all night long? How do I get him to stop? How will I know if he has had enough to eat? What if he is still hungry? Am I really putting the diaper on right???!! Well needless to say we got through the first night, he had enough to eat, he only cried when he needed to be fed and I actually got really good at putting on a diaper. These days I can put one on as he is crawling away. Not too bad!

The first night turned into the second and then the third and pretty soon three hundred and sixty five nights passed on. We now have a one year old little boy who feeds himself, sleeps through the night, crawls (and almost walks) around not needing any help--I could go on and on about his milestones! At times I wonder does he even need me anymore? Every once in awhile though I catch him looking for me, just making sure my eyes are still on him. He gives me his infectious grin and goes on his way. My hearts melts knowing he does still need me, I am his mother and that will never change.

I can not express the joy I have in my heart for Coleman. Our lives have been so blessed by this little amazing man and only keep getting better day by day. I can not wait to share with all of you the wonderful things he has yet to accomplish as the years go by. Thank you for all the guidance and support each one of you have given Jordan and I. We have appreciated all the thoughts and prayers for our monkey man this past year. We could have not gotten through some of the tough times without them! I can not wait to see what the next year brings for Coleman and our family and yes, it will all be captured with pictures so we can blog about it to our loved ones! So with that said...Happy Birthday little man! We love you.

The Car Seat

Look at me! I can face out in my car seat now and I am loving it. I was so mesmerized today during the car ride. I loved looking out the windows and seeing so many new things. Turning one is the best!

Happy 4th!

Happy fourth of July to everyone! I hope you had a fun holiday. I had a great day of playing with my Grammie and Poppy and going out to dinner with my friend Nolan and his mommy and daddy. I didn't get to see fireworks this year (I was already tuckered out!) but there is always next year right?
Best buds.
